Amazon.com Product Description
Appropriate for everyone from elite athletes to kids to weekend warriors trying to stay in shape, the Bosu balance trainer helps you strengthen and coordinate several major muscle groups, including the muscles you don't see. The Bosu targets your core muscles--the muscles around your abdominal and back area--while you perform a host of different workouts, from squats and bicep curls to lateral shoulder raises and hip extensions. As a result, you not only gain strength, trim, and tone, but also improve your balance and coordination along the way. In addition, Bosu training helps strengthen the mind, with thoughtful movement that requires the participant to not only be physically involved, but also "here and present" with the mind fully engaged. By combining physical and mental focus, Bosu training will boost your performance across a wide continuum of activities, including sports, recreation, and daily tasks.

The Bosu home trainer comes with a workout series on a single DVD to help get you fit, along with a foot pump and exercise manual. The DVD workout series starts with the Calorie Combustion Workout, which combines step routines with sport-specific moves to get your heart rate up and your muscles challenged. The Long & Lean Workout follows a different formula, with master trainer Chalene Johnson leading you through Pilates-inspired movements that emphasize total body toning, so you feel stronger, taller, and younger. Finally, the Absolutely Abs Workout concludes the Bosu package. In this final workout, master motivator Greg Cook unlocks the Bosu dynamics to maximize your range of motion and take your ab workouts to the next level.

Awesome piece of equipment (2010-08-30)
This BOSU ball is awesome. I have integrated it into my P90X routine wherever possible (push ups, squats, lunges, etc. I even do some arm exercises while balancing on it). It is great and adds depth to all my exercise routines. You can use it either way, with the flat side down or the rounded side down.

The construction seems very good and after a month of 4-5 days per week of use, I have had no problems with it, and see no signs of trouble.

If you want to add variety to your exercise routine, I recommend this product. It can really help you shake up your routine.

mixed feelings (2010-08-28)
I used a Bosu ball during a session with a personal trainer for the first time and LOVED it- it was hard and my fav ab exercized involved leaning back and sitting up on it to pass a weighted ball to the trainer. Anyway I brought it home and followed the directions to pump it to 10 inches and I measured it but REALLY it was toooo pumped up and too easy to do the stepping, squating and lunging. I'm pretty sure the one at the GYM was less filled and created more instability. I would also say that 10 inches is too inflated and could cause the ball to come off the base. Mine did - I'm sure it also has to do with my family storing it sideways. It broke within a week:(

I love it! (2010-08-20)
I've been wanting one of these since I worked out on one with my trainer at my gym. I was hoping it was the same size as the one I worked out with and it was. It's a great product that came with a workout video. Glad I finally got one!

Bosu balance ball (2010-07-05)
Very good product. Purchased primarily to help my kids train for sports. Great for balance.

Pricey - but a great investment! (2010-06-06)
I have always been concerned with fitness - first, when I was playing sports; now, just as a way to maintain my health. I had been considering purchasing a Bosu for awhile - but the price had always outweighed the benefits in my mind (and wallet!) I finally decided to buy one, and I'm glad I did! Finding good "tools" for working on balance while developing functional strength is not always easy. The Bosu solves that problem. There are a LOT of exercises that you can do with it - both upper and lower body - and all are very important in terms of working on your balance (including the small, usually overlooked stabilizer muscles), while at the same time developing the functional strength that we ALL need in our daily lives.

If you can afford to buy one - I recommend it!
